  • Conclusion

KJV: 15 There is nothing from without a man, that entering into him can defile him: but the things which come out of him, those are they that defile the man. 16 If any man have ears to hear, let him hear.”

NIV: 15 Nothing outside a person can defile them by going into them. Rather, it is what comes out of a person that defiles them.

ESV: 15 There is nothing outside a person that by going into him can defile him, but the things that come out of a person are what defile him.

CSB: 15 Nothing that goes into a person from outside can defile him but the things that come out of a person are what defile him.

Explanation

Mark 7:16 repeats a common teaching found throughout the Synoptics (Matthew 11:15; 13:9; 13:43; Mark 4:9; 4:23; Luke 8:8; 14:35).

Result

Omission of Mark 7:16 loses nothing as it is a common phrase.
