NIV: 2 He replied, “When evening comes, you say, ‘It will be fair weather, for the sky is red,’ 3 and in the morning, ‘Today it will be stormy, for the sky is red and overcast.’ You know how to interpret the appearance of the sky, but you cannot interpret the signs of the times.

External evidence

The passage is missing from the earliest Greek manuscripts, the translations, and the early Church Fathers. It was probably added in the second century. The UBS gives the inclusion of this verse and a half a C rating, expressing significant doubt about its inclusion. However, all modern translation include the words.
